David Reeves lives in New Brunswick, Canada on the beautiful Kennebecasis River. He has been interested in drawing and painting all of his life and his love of the sea is evident in many of his subjects.
He was educated as a professional engineer and has pursued that profession for greater than 30 years. For the past decade he has devoted much of his time to his artistic interests and expects to continue in this manner.
David paints in watercolours, pastels, and acrylics, and a mix of all these media. The quality of his paintings has been achieved by hard work, determination, and a passion for art and creativity. This dedication was rewarded at the 2004 Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) "Open Water" national juried show at the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery in West Toronto. He was awarded the H.K. Holbein Award for Innovative Use of Watercolour for his painting “Surfacing”. This was David's first juried show entry resulting in acceptance by the national jury as well as the award. For more information click on this link: CSPWC. On May 5, 2006 David was further honoured to be admitted as an Elected Member of the CSPWC. To round out a very successful year, in November 2006 he was also elected to the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA).
David extensively studies art techniques and art history in pursuit of developing his own style and methods. David's greatest reward is the enjoyment and inspiration others receive from viewing and discussing his work and that of other artists.
