David Reeves was pleased to receive the news that his pastel painting “Night Descending on the Harbour” shown above, has been awarded the 4th Place Prize in the Pastel Journal’s annual Pastel 100 competition.  The Pastel Journal is an internationally distributed art magazine for Pastel Artists published by F+W Publishing in the USA. 

Aside from the prize money, a half page article has been published in the April 2009 issue of the magazine.  The categories judge Frank Federico had this to say of the winning entries: “their work is among the best assemblages of abstract and non-objective works in pastel he’s ever seen”.  The competition organizers told David that his entry won 4th place out of 5000 entries!
